How it works

$GAS is one coin on pump.fun. All of its creator fees go to the Gas Money treasury, and the treasury turns them into gas gift cards for the people who hold the most $GAS.

Top 50, by holding and holding time

Whenever enough creator fees have built up (0.01 SOL or more, which can be every few minutes on a busy day), the treasury claims them and pays out right away:

The boost starts at 1× when you first hold and steps up with every full hour you hold, reaching 2× after 24 hours (halfway, 12 hours, is 1.5×). Your holding time is the average age of the $GAS you hold: buying more mixes the new tokens in at zero, selling some doesn't reset it, selling everything does. The top 50 are picked by weight too, so holding longer can move you up.

You've held 1M $GAS for 24 hours (weight 1M × 2 = 2M). Someone buys 1M now (weight 1M × 1 = 1M). From an $80 payout split between just the two of you, you get $53.33 and they get $26.67.

Credits under one cent wait for your next payout and are added to it. Every credit is listed on your tank page with the fee-claim transaction it came from. Look up any wallet on My gas cards to see its balance, rank, holding time and boost.

The minimum, and letting it build

Your balance shows as a fuel gauge. It fills toward the smallest gas card on offer. Once it gets there, you can claim a card any time.

You don't have to. Leave it and your tank keeps filling with every payout, so you can claim a bigger card later. When you claim, the biggest card your balance covers is picked for you, and you can choose a smaller one. Whatever's left over stays in your tank.

Countries and brands

Gas cards are bought from Bitrefill. You choose a country (the United States by default) and pick from the gas-station gift cards Bitrefill sells there, with the amounts each one comes in. The list comes from Bitrefill's live catalog, so it changes as brands come and go.

Most gas cards only work in their own country, and some only inside the brand's app. Check the card's instructions before you claim. Gas Money is not affiliated with Bitrefill or with any fuel brand.

Expiry

A credit that sits unclaimed for 180 days goes back into the next payout for the top 50 at that time. Your tank page shows your next expiry date and how much it covers. Claiming spends your oldest credit first.

Codes are only shown to you

To see your tank you sign a one-time message with your wallet. It proves the wallet is yours, sends nothing and costs nothing.

When a card is ready, its code, PIN and link appear on your tank page and nowhere else. They're encrypted on our servers and only ever sent to the wallet that earned them. A gas card code works like cash: don't share it or post a screenshot of it.

Coverage

Every unclaimed balance is a dollar the treasury owes. Against that it holds USDC and a balance at Bitrefill that cards are paid from. The home page shows the ratio live, for example "Every balance is backed: 104%".

If coverage ever drops below 100%, claims pause by themselves until it's back. Balances stay where they are.

Solana network fees for claiming, swapping and topping up are paid from the creator fees before the split. Any owner or buyback share is set before launch and shown on the home page.
